Christmas season means concerts! Here are a few we’ve heard of in the area. With the shortened season this year, concert-goers have a lot of choices on the next two weekends:
December 5: Seattle Christian School Christmas Concert
Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
No charge

December 7: Winterfest in Normandy Park
4 to 7 pm at Normandy Park Town Center
Location: 19901 1st Ave. S., Normandy Park, WA 98148
Tree lighting, Santa hats to the first 500 attendees, and several choirs.
December 8: Lifted Youth Gospel Choir Concert
In partnership with Lake Burien Presbyterian Church, as outlined in this post on Facebook:
5 pm, no charge for tickets, but donations are welcome.

December 8: Highline Community Symphonic Band
Holiday concert “Peace on Earth”
Sunday, December 8 at 2 PM
No charge.
Highline High school Theatre
225 S 152nd St, Burien
December 9: West Seattle Community Debut and Concert Orchestras
6 p.m. Monday, (but there’s no mention of holiday themes for this concert.)
Concert will be held at Chief Sealth International High School’s Auditorium
2600 SW Thistle St, Seattle, WA 98126
From their site: “There is no admission fee, but donations are appreciated!”
December 9, 14 and 21: Orchestra of Flight
Originally the Boeing Employee Symphony Orchestra, this group now includes performers from varied backgrounds. They are presenting three concerts.

- December 9: Merrill Gardens in Burien, at 7 pm
- December 14 in Normandy Park at the Community Club (Cove), 7 pm
- December 21 at the Museum of Flight in Tukwila, 11 am
There’s no charge for any of these concerts.
December 11: West Seattle Community Orchestra and Wind Symphony
Holiday Concert 7. p.m.
“Celebrate the entry into winter with works from Anderson, Hanson, Schubert, and Tchaikovsky.”
Location: Concerts are held at Chief Sealth International High School’s Auditorium – 2600 SW Thistle St, Seattle, WA 98126

December 14: Orchestra of Flight, as previously noted, performs at Normandy Park Cove.
December 14 and 15: Choral Sounds Northwest concerts
Highline Performing Arts Center

Time: 2 pm
Tickets are $25 per person for those 18 and up. No cost for 17 and under. Tickets are available HERE:

December 17: Emerald West Cellos

From a concert calendar website: Come celebrate the end of the year with us! The amateur cellists of Emerald West Cello Ensemble will play a variety of classic and contemporary tunes, as well as holiday favorites. All are welcome!
December 21: Orchestra of Flight, as previously noted, performs at the Museum of Flight in Tukwila.
