Garcia, Méndez, Moore Extend Leads; Espinoza, Obras, Zahilay Ahead in August 8 King County Primary Results

These are Day 4 tallies as of August 8, 2025 from King County Elections, specific to Burien, Highline and nearby primaries. They reflect ballots counted through August 8, incorporating mail-in and provisional ballots. The official certification remains scheduled for August 19, 2025.

The top two vote-getters in each race will move on the the general election in November.

King County Proposition 1 (parks and recreation levy)


City of Burien – Council Position No. 1

  • Hugo Garcia: 4,225 votes (48.52%)
  • Jessica Ivey: 2,240 votes (25.72%)
  • Claudio Fernandez: 1,693 votes (19.44%)
  • Cameron Boosman: 514 votes (5.90%)
  • Write-ins: 36 votes (0.41%) King County Election Results
    Advancing: Garcia and Ivey.

City of Burien – Council Position No. 3

  • Sam Méndez: 4,182 votes (48.27%)
  • Marie Barbon: 2,682 votes (30.96%)
  • Rashell Lisowski: 1,760 votes (20.31%)
  • Write-ins: 40 votes (0.46%) King County Election Results
    Advancing: Méndez and Barbon.

City of Burien – Council Position No. 5


City of SeaTac – Council Position No. 6

  • Bedria Abdullahi: 1,445 votes (44.05%)
  • Michael Sanford: 1,250 votes (38.11%)
  • Marianne West: 567 votes (17.29%)
  • Write-ins: 18 votes (0.55%) King County Election Results
    Advancing: Abdullahi and Sanford—still very close.

Highline School District No. 401 – Director District No. 4

  • Damarys Espinoza: 9,848 votes (47.45%)
  • Ken Kemp: 8,616 votes (41.51%)
  • Shirley‑Nita Enninful: 2,195 votes (10.58%)
  • Write-ins: 97 votes (0.47%) King County Election Results
    Advancing: Espinoza and Kemp.

Legislative District No. 33 – State Representative Position No. 1

  • Edwin Obras: 10,466 votes (46.85%)
  • Kevin Schilling: 6,941 votes (31.07%)
  • Darryl Jones: 4,881 votes (21.85%)
  • Write-ins: 49 votes (0.22%) King County Election Results+1

  • Peter Kwon: 8,905 votes (27.83%)
  • Steffanie Fain: 7,752 votes (24.23%)
  • Kim‑Khanh Van: 7,413 votes (23.17%)
