Stolen Vehicle Recovered, Arrest Made, at Burien’s Cold Weather Shelter

The morning of February 5, 2025, around 7:00 a.m. at least five police vehicles were called to the Highline United Methodist Church, which serves as Burien’s cold weather shelter, located at 13015 1st Ave S. in Burien, Washington.

According to the King County Sheriff’s Office, this was a recovery of a stolen vehicle, stolen out of Seattle. PD Case #25-32769.

One person was arrested and taken to the King County Jail. Charges recommended were “possession of a stolen motor vehicle.” It was sent to the prosecutor’s office.

  1. Can’t you hear them now… our usual activists would say…”they only “took” it because they needed a ride to stay somewhere warm for the night”

  2. I wonder if the open drug use outside that building is considered religious expression and therefore not enforced? I’m joking, we all know there are no junkies within the homeless community only those who can’t pay rent or hold jobs due to economics. If you’re truely struggling as a senior or lost your home to medical debt there’s resources that don’t require you to end up there.
