Seattle Symphony Celebrates Southeast Asian Music in Burien

On Tuesday, May 27, the Seattle Symphony and Mount Rainier High School will join to celebrate Southeast Asian Music in a Free Burien Concert.

Burien, WA — Mark your calendars for a night of vibrant culture, rhythm, and community as the Seattle Symphony joins forces with student performers from Mount Rainier High School to celebrate the music and dance of Southeast Asia.

Tuesday, May 27 at 7:30 p.m.

Adding to the excitement, the Mount Rainier High School Orchestra will share the stage with the Symphony, along with the school’s talented dance groups, who will perform traditional dances from across the Southeast Asian region.

In a special Community Concert in Burien, the Seattle Symphony will be led by conductors Sunny Xia and Ashley La in a unique program featuring traditional and contemporary works inspired by Southeast Asian heritage. This event shines a spotlight on the rich cultural traditions of Vietnam, Cambodia, and the Philippines.

This is more than just a concert—it’s a joyful, cross-cultural collaboration that brings together professional musicians and young local talent in a celebration of heritage, art, and unity.

Admission is free and RSVPs are recommended, though not required. Seating is general admission, and all are welcome to attend.
