It has been over a hundred years since Glen Wooldridge floated down the Rogue River in Oregon, in a riverboat that he had built himself. Now, Wooldridge Boats are leaders and innovators not only in the boating industry as a whole, but specifically in the outboard jet platform. While Wooldridge Boats has its roots in the Pacific Northwest, the company has boats all over the world, including Russia, Greenland, and Chile.

But most recently, the company launched a video highlighting their brand new boat, the Rogue. Using the thermoplastic HDPE, or High-density Polyethylene, Wooldridge Boats has designed a brand-new boat ideal for shallow water and take jetboating to a whole new level.
“It just hit a chord in the industry,” said Grant Wooldridge. “Which I knew it was kind of cool and unique, but holy cow, it has really done something.”
Grant Wooldridge is the Vice President at Wooldridge Boats, and great-grandson to Glen Wooldridge. He explained that he came up with the idea for the Rogue with his father, also named Glen, over a year ago. They were looking at an HDPE boat that had been released in Europe. However, the boat that they saw was built for running on the ocean, not a jet boat.
Which gave both father and son an idea.

“We looked at each other, and I was like, ‘Dad, are you thinking what I’m thinking?’ ” Grant said. “Why are we not making an outboard jet out of this? Look at the safety, the forgiveness, the grace that you have running this in some of that technical water.”
Since the video was released online over two weeks ago, seven Rogues have been sold, with more people still inquiring about purchasing. The way the Rogue is designed provides impact resistance, its smooth surface decreases incidents in shallow waters, and it has high buoyancy.
