Santa Claus Returns to Burien for an Old Fashioned Christmas Tree Lighting!

This Wednesday evening, December 4, Burien’s Economy Wiring invites you to join them for their annual tree-lighting and Santa visit in this old-fashioned Christmas celebration. The event will be held at 633 SW 148th Street, Burien, WA, starting at 6 p.m.

Economy Wiring owners, Jay and Gail Smith, are thrilled to host this beloved Burien event, a tradition since 1982, where they partner with the Burien/Normandy Park Fire Department.

The St. Francis Children’s Choir will welcome in the season with a few delightful Christmas songs, then Santa will arrive in a stylish “sleigh” (which closely resembles a Burien firetruck), courtesy of Burien/Normandy Park Firefighting team.

Upon his arrival, Santa will take time to hand out candy canes and visit with the children, maybe even a few photos.

Once the tree is properly illuminated, it will be visible for miles, including from flights coming in and out of SeaTac airport!

After the main tree-lighting, the choir may be inspired to sing an extra song or two, but most importantly, Santa will lead the crowd back into the store for snacks and warmth, where everyone can cozy up by the many fireplace inserts.

Owners Jay and Gail are pleased to offer this annual gift to the families of the community they serve, both in business and as volunteers.  They only ask that you please bring an unwrapped toy or nonperishable food item for the Local Community Outreach, so that Christmas may reach everyone.
