Two events worth noting are the Des Moines Memorial Day on Monday May 26 & Congressional Forum with Pramila Jayapal on Tuesday May 27.
Monday May 26, Memorial Day commemoration event at 11am at the Sunnydale School site.
Suggested arrival around 10:30am, as the event begins promptly at 11am.
Address: the corner of 156th Street and Des Moines Memorial Drive, 15631 8th Ave S, Burien, 98148. Parking is available on site.
Hosted by the Des Moines Memorial Drive Preservation Association, the event includes the National Anthem sung by Kate Bysheim, and an Honor Guard from American Legion post 134.
On Tuesday May 27, 7th District Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal is hosting a neighborhood town hall.
As noted on the signup page, the town hall doors open at 5:15, and the event is from 6 pm to 7: 30. It is in the theater of Highline High School. This is NOT the Performing Arts Center. The theater is inside the new Highline High School building.
Parking is available at the school and also at a lot on the north side of 152nd, across from the Performing Arts Center.
Pre-registration is strongly recommended. The event page says people who sign up will be notified within two business days. Since it is now the weekend, people may not get this email. If you sign up and don’t hear back, I’d just show up.
