[VIDEO] DESC, Low Barrier (but High Crime) Homeless Shelter, Ending in Little Saigon – Journalist Choe

DESC will be closing in Seattle, but Burien is set to open a similar shelter in May 2024 at 801 SW 150th St .  There is NOT a “good neighbor agreement” in place.  What will this mean for Burien?

The following is video and comments posted on Twitter (X) by Journalist on Homelessness, Jonathan Choe about DESC – Navigation Center in Little Saigon.

EXCLUSIVE: In a stunning reversal, Seattle says it will not renew the lease of DESC’s Navigation Center in Little Saigon. Neighbors have blamed this low barrier homeless shelter for open air drug use, crime, and 911 calls spiking in the area. Massive win for this community.🧵👇 pic.twitter.com/g0vCDeAbqz
